Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 EX DG OS APO HSM Lens
Today was my first morning back from Japan and as if life wasn't going well enough already, the FedEx man just made my life a little more interesting. Thanks to Sigma USA a new 120-300mm F2.8 EX APO lens has arrived just in time for my 2 Bald Eagle tours that start next week in Alaska. This is a lens I have been wanting to get my hands on for a long time. The 120-300 appears to have an almost too good to be true balance of reach, speed, price and flexibility. So how good is this lens for wildlife photography? Over the next two weeks I will be spending a lot of time in the field with this lens photographing Bald Eagles in flight and of course I will be posting my findings here. I will be looking closely at AF speed, image quality, handheld use, tripod use, and I will share a lot of images made with this lens with and without the 1.4x TC. If you are interested in this lens and have questions or requests send me an email and I will do my best to answer them during my time with this lens.
