These trips will be better than the “good old days” in Homer! One boat trip with legal eagle feeding each day (weather permitting). Two great leaders who actually care if you learn and actually do care if you get great images. Decades of Canon and Nikon experience. Five of years experience at Homer. All natural settings. You will photograph eagles in flight until you are too tired to lift your lens. On Robert’s trip in late February 2010, some group members stayed in the motel on the last day because they were too tired to photograph! You will photograph eagles in flight. Eagles perched on lichen-and moss-covered driftwood, in small spruce trees, and on rocky shores and beaches. Eagles diving. Eagles fighting. Eagles fishing. Eagles of all age classes. This will be one of the great photographic experiences of your lifetime. Snow possible. Additional likely subjects: Long-tailed Duck (aka Oldsquaw), both goldeneyes, Common and Red-breasted Merganser, Northwestern Crow, Common Raven, and a variety of gulls. Slaty-backed Gull, an extreme rarity it is possible. If you snooze on this one you will lose; it will likely sell out in hours.
Now is some more great news: sign up for both trips and photograph with us on March 23 as our guest; this represents a $689.80 value and makes a lot of sense for folks coming a really long way. Folks signing up the first trip may join us on March 17th (provided that Robert and I are not delayed in transit) or on March 23rd (that one on a space available basis) at the reduced rate of $500 per day. Payment for either extra day is required with the payment of your balance.
A non-refundable deposit of $1000 is required to hold a spot for this IPT. Deposits may be paid by check, PayPal, or credit card. Payment in full (by check or money order only) is due six months before the start of each trip and is non-refundable unless the IPT sells out. You will be required to sign a statement of understanding to this effect. Travel insurance is of course highly recommended. Travel Insurance Services offers a variety of plans and options. Included with the Elite Option or available as an upgrade to the Basic & Plus Options, you can also purchase Cancel for Any Reason Coverage, which expands the list of reasons for your canceling to an infinite list, from a sudden work or family obligation to a simple change of mind. My family and I use and depend on the great policies offered by TIS whenever we travel. You can learn more here: http://www.travelinsure.com/what/selecthigh.asp?32940. Do note that many plans require that you purchase your travel insurance within 14 days of BIRDS AS ART cashing your deposit check of running your credit card. We regret that we must implement this policy but before it was put in place we were plagued by last minute cancellations that make it impossible for others to participate and deprived us of essential income. A waiting list will be maintained.
Important note: please print, fill out, and sign the registration and release forms and include them with your deposit check (made out to “Arthur Morris.” ) If you use a credit card to register, please fill out, sign, and mail the two forms asap. Your registration will not be complete until we receive the required paperwork. You can find the required forms here: http://www.birdsasart.com/Registration%20and%20Release%20Forms.pdf
