Katmai Alaska Brown Bear Workshop July 18-24, 2012. 7 Days, 6 nights: $5899.  One opening

It is mandatory that you be in Kodiak no later than the late afternoon of July 17th to avoid missing the float plane to the boat on the morning of July 18th.  (Being there on July 17th is a much safer plan).

It is mandatory that you be in Kodiak no later than the late afternoon of August 3rd to avoid missing the float plane to the boat on the morning of August 4th.  (Being there on August 3rd is a much safer plan).

This trip will feature lots and lots of coastal Brown Bears of various ages including spring cubs (nursing and playing), eating luscious green grass, and clamming.  Also we should have possible chances to photograph bears fishing for salmon.  Bald Eagles with chicks in the nest are probable, both species of puffin possible, and likely chances with hauled out and endangered Steller’s Sea Lions.  Halibut fishing (license required) is optional.

2012 will be my seventh year photographing and leading workshops to photograph Coastal Brown Bears in Katmai. Join me for 7 days of Coastal Brown Bear photography in some of the most beautiful natural habitats in Alaska. This park has one of the world’s highest concentration of brown bears and with 7 years of experience leading trips in Katmai I am confident that we will be able to provide you with the very best possible photographic opportunities. With our small group and private access we will comfortably photograph the bears natural behavior without any pressure from crowds, camps, or facilities in a totally natural setting.  We will have a morning and afternoon photography session weather permitting. In the afternoons we will make time for group image review photography, Photoshop and digital workflow instruction each day.
