Robert O’Toole is an award winning professional photographer. He was named American Bald Eagle Foundation “Photographer of the Year” in 2008. His vertical banking Bald Eagle image was awarded highly commended in the 2006 BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.
Robert, who now specializes in wildlife and nature, has been a professional photographer for more than 20 years. An accomplished photographic instructor, Robert has been leading and co-leading photography workshops across the US and internationally for past 6 years. He got his start co-leading Birds As Art Instructional-Photo-Tours with Arthur Morris. He conducts image optimization workshops and has written two Photoshop tutorial CDs (APTATS 1 and APTATS 2). Robert is currently based in SW Florida. He uses a variety of Nikon, Canon, and Sigma equipment. During the 1990s Robert did commercial and advertising photography around the globe; his clients included Quiksilver Inc, Billabong International, Liquid Energy Ltd, Action Sports Group, and Atoll Media Ltd..

Q1. What camera systems have you used?
A1. I am currently using a Nikon D700 and D300S bodies with Nikkor and Sigma lenses. For more than 10 years I have used Canon equipment exclusively with every Canon Pro and pro-sumer DSLR camera since the D30.
Q2. How long have you been a full time professional nature photographer?
A2. Photography has been the sole source of my income for the past five years. Before working with nature photography full time I worked as a commercial/advertising photographer.
Q3. What is your favorite place to photograph?
A3. Coastal Alaska and Florida are at the top of my list.
